News from Edinburgh - Day 8
Welcome back home - we've just arrived at Geneva after a quiet flight with fantastic views of the beautiful landscape. The check-in went well although the luggage of some of us was to heavy. The students must have spent all their pocket money.

In the afternoon we walked to Cramond Island. Thanks to the low tight we arrived without getting wet feet. Our hosts brought us to the school at 9.30, afterwards we had some time to play billard or tabletennis or to climb up Calton Hill or to do the last shopping in the city Now we're sitting in the coach heading towards Stans, looking forward to seeing mummy and daddy again.

News from Edinburgh - Day 7
This morning was our last day of school, ending a successful week. We were blessed with wonderful weather again, which found many of the students enjoying their breaktime out on the gras. In the afternoon they prepared short cabaret scatches to be performed in the evening. Some of the students already finished at 3 o' clock so there was enough time to go into town to spend their last penny.

At 8 o' clock the students started to arrive back at the school ready for the show and the boys wore their kilt. The students performed for the teachers and their friends and enjoyed a great evening.

News from Edinburgh - Day 6
After school we met at the Scott Monument. David led us to the foot of Arthur's Seat where we first tried to catch the Queen's eye at Holyrood Palace. The Queen waved back, but we had no time to share afternoon tea with her because we had to climb the small mountain.

At the summit we enjoyed the breathtaking view, 360 degrees over Edinburgh and smiling faces everywhere. Luckily we didn't leave our suncream and sunglasses at home! The Scottish weather is being very good to us - Blue sky and hot sun.

News from Edinburgh - Day 5
In the morning we learned a lot about Scotland and its culture. It was interesting, so we start to be wee experts in Scottish matters. In the afternoon most of the students went into town to go shopping, sightseeing or enjoying the sun lying in the park. Surprisingly the boys turned up with their newly bought kilts
and looked handsome in them, just like David did.

He led us through a Scottish dancing evening, sang some songs with us and explained the most important facts about Scottish culture and music. Ceilidh, what great fun we had!

News from Edinburgh - Day 4
During the morning classes the students worked on some newspaper articles. After a short break the teachers changed their focus to the environment and the possibilities of everyone to put in a positive effort.

After the lunch break all the students joined some old fashioned classes at a victorian classroom. The ordered silence and the need to sit tight was quite a big adventure for some students. In the end it turned out that it was a unusual but impressive experience. Thanks to Miss Boston for her marvelous acting skills.

News from Edinburgh - Day 2
Our first trip started at 9 o' clock in front of our school. A coach took us to the rainy harbor of Anstruther, where we wanted to eat the best fish n' chips in Britain, but had to accept that the shop wasn't opened that time. Instead of fish, we enjoyed a hot coffee, before we continued our journey to Saint Andrews. There we went for a walk right at the beach.

Then we followed our guide David, who was playing the bagpipe, toward the impressive town center. The students enjoyed their leisure time (shopping....). The final stop took us to the Scottish deer center, where we fed some deers and everyone enjoyed the birdwatching with hawks and falcons. On the way home David gave us some riddles to solve and songs to sing. Thanks David for this lovely day!!!

News from Edinburgh - Day one.
After a three hour ride by coach we arrived at the airport of Geneva. It took us only two more hours by plane to get to Edinburgh. On our way to the Mackenzie School of English, we were able to join a community festival offering several specials such as rollercoasters, pipe-bands and a lot of sweets.

Just after we've been driven to the school, the students were picked up by their hosts, where they spent their first night in Edinburgh.
